It is a requirement of health and safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in, and provide adequate first aid training, personnel and equipment to manage any injuries or ill-health at work.

First Aid At Work is a 3-day course that can be certificated with Aiker Training or certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid At Work (RQF).

This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to do with situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.

From simple accidents to life-threatening scenarios like anaphylactic shock or cardiac arrest, we can confidently train your staff to a high standard giving them the best chance to save lives.

First Aid At Work courses delivered throughout the UK are Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved, so you can be confident that the quality of training and first aiders in your organisation are of the standard you need.

Aim of The Course
  • To promote health and well being in the workplace.
  • To provide learners with the ability to support and care for heart attack victims.
  • To save lives through quality CPR and AED resuscitation skills.
  • To provide learners with the ability to support and care for people that have suffered a wide variety of injuries.
  • To educate learners in a range of illnesses and diseases that may affect people in the workplace. 
Objectives of The Course
  • To understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
  • To be able to perform CPR to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing.
  • To be able to provide First Aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing.
  • To be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  • To be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
  • To be able to recognise and know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock.
  • To know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries.
  • Be able to respond to a person that has become unwell due to a range of conditions and illnesses
Day 1
  • Legalities and responsibilities
  • Action in an emergency
  • Primary survey & secondary assessment
  • Resuscitation and AED 
  • The respiratory system
  • Disorders of circulation 
  • Wounds and bleeding 
  • Seizures 
  • Minor injuries
Day 2
  • CPR & AED Revision
  • Bones, joints and muscle injuries 
  • Head and spinal injuries
  • Chest and abdominal injuries
Day 3
  • Poisoning
  • Specialised burn injuries 
  • Eye injuries
  • Practical and written assessment

This course is 3 days and can be spread over 3 weeks.

Assessment Process for this course

Learners will be assessed through observation of set practical skills and written test at the end of the course.

Certification Options

There are two options for certification:
The learner can be certificated with an Aiker Training certificate OR
The learner can be certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) – Additional fees apply.
