Suited to organisations who have identified a need for Emergency First Aid At Work practitioners, then this National award in Emergency First Aid At Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for first aid- the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).

Emergency First Aid at Work is a full-day first aid course that can be certificated with Aiker Training or certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support (RQF).

Our Emergency First Aid course will give your staff the knowledge and skills to confidently manage a wide range of workplace illnesses and accidents competently from life-saving CPR and safe use of AED’s to treating wounds, bleeding and choking events.

Our Emergency First Aid at Work courses delivered throughout the UK are Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved, so you can be confident that the quality of training and first aiders in your organisation are of the standard you need.

Aim of The Course
  • To promote health and well being in the workplace.
  • To provide learners with the ability to support and care for others that have been injured or become unwell at work.
  • To save lives through quality CPR and AED resuscitation skills.
Objectives of The Course
  • To understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
  • To be able to perform CPR to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing.
  • To be able to provide First Aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing.
  • To be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  • To be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
  • To be able to recognise and know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock.
  • To know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries.
This course will examine the following topics:
  • Legalities and responsibilities
  • Action in an emergency
  • Primary survey & secondary assessment
  • Resuscitation and AED 
  • The respiratory system
  • Disorders of circulation 
  • Wounds and bleeding 
  • Seizures 
  • Minor injuries 

This course is 1 day.

Assessment Process for this course

Learners will be assessed through observation of set practical skills.

Certification Options

There are two options for certification:
The learner can be certificated with an Aiker Training certificate OR
The learner can be certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) – Additional fees apply.
